What is Baby Flat-Head Syndrome? Print E-mail

  • » The upper section of the head slopes more in one particular direction
  • » One cheek appears shallower than the other
  • » The ears and eyes seem asymmetrical
  • » The forehead seems angled/bulging

In most cases, early intervention in the form of preventive care can work quite well, and this does involve considerable attention on the part of the ones close to the baby.

For parents, it is also important not to confuse this condition with Craniosynostosis, wherein the premature closing of a skull’s sutures lead to a misshaped head. While Flat Head Syndromey is fairly easy to address with timely help, the same cannot be said about Craniosynostosis.

Seek medical advice about any change in your baby’s head shape.
