Thank you for visiting the Australian Flat Head Syndrome prevention awareness and information website.
As a registered nurse and mother of 2 young children (and another on the way) I am concerned and somewhat amazed about the lack of information available to parents and care givers on the topic of Flat Head Syndrome. Having experienced the need to prevent Flat Head Syndrome in my own children as well as observing numerous friends struggling to find the information to assist them to do so, I decided to develop this information website.
To date the Australian media has focused on the correction of Flat Head Syndrome in infants and particularly the use of helmet therapy. Whilst information about the mode of correction is important, arming parents with information on how to easily prevent this condition is extremely important. Prevention can be simple, less traumatic on the child and parents and also far less costly than attempting to correct Flat Head Syndrome. Prevention can only occur if awareness is in place in the first instance.
The aim of this website is to provide information about the condition of Flat Head Syndrome as well as providing tips and suggestions on how it can be prevented.
